Week Three At Pennebaker

This week I spent my time at Pennebaker working with Mr. Byrd (one of the guys in charge of the digital work at Pennebaker) on an internal analysis of how Pennebaker’s ad campaigns are going. I spent a lot of time loading information in about the keywords and ad campaigns that Pennebaker runs for itself. I’ve been learning a lot about the world of online advertising and how negative keywords (search words that keep certain words from linking to Pennebaker’s ads) are just as important as the usual keywords. The creative talent someone has to have to create appealing advertisements is highly surprising, as people often brush off the talent needed for advertising. I am so interested by the ways the designers at Pennebaker work with keywords and advertisements to create connections to their clients. It really shows me that marketing is a social, psychological, and economic phenomenon. I learn more every day and I love it.
